My birth given first name is Honey and that is what I chose to write under. I figured I didn't need a pen name with a name like Honey! Born in Georgia, raised in Florida, but home is in Tennessee. I have two sisters and one brother, beyond that it is complicated. I am married with four children and growing our family with grandchildren these days. I have been writing songs, poems, and stories since grade school. It took many years to gain the courage to put my work in the public's view, as I used to fear what people would say or think of me or my work. I have had backlash from family members for some poems because they felt it was about our family, it was too close to home. I write fiction but it is sometimes based off factual events, and I refuse to hold back for the sake of the way someone else feels because they didn't mind stomping all over my feelings.

My birth given middle name is Bee. That's why I am releasing my songs under Honey Bee, because it is the name I was given at birth and I wanted my books and music under two different names. It took me even longer to get the courage up to sing the songs I wrote, because let us be real, people can be mean. I don't claim to be a singer but I wrote them and this is the path I am choosing to put my work out there, so if you don't like my stuff you don't have to read it and you don't have to listen to it. I have seen people hate on others who I actually thought could sing and that made me realize, it doesn't matter. Someone will love you and someone else will hate you for the same thing or for way you look, sound, write, for your beliefs, or simply because someone else lied about you, or for no reason at all or for whatever reason they make up. I still care if people love me or hate me but not enough to let it stop me from following my dreams.

I no longer need others validation to be me. I will pray for any that spread hate and I hope you never let anyone's opinion stop you from following your dreams!!! For anyone that thinks I am writing about you, I am, so just smile and give me content!! ☺
